Setting Eye on the Sea

4/28/13

What was it? I had seen it before, but never like this.
The sea had never been such a thing.
How was it that this time in looking upon its vastness and crashing waves it introduced itself as something brand new?
Filled with joy,
I went for it. The salt was as sweet as the bitter cold.
Feeling the current anew it pulled my feet in all directions.
How could so much water exist and I in it?!
I had seen it before, but never like this.
The beautiful Light shown through and made it anew.
When I could barely reach,
and when danger of sharks used to reign in my mind,
I now sang.
Though I didn’t sing, I shouted, to my Lord and King.
My hands slammed against the water to the beat of the rising praise,
With His waves, a choir behind me,
my voice cracked beautifully into His ears.
I know He was smiling…
He has given me eyes to see.
The sea will never be the same for me.
I found the depths of the ocean in knowing its creator.
